Terms of service

JEMA Move is a marketplace. We connect people who want junk removed with independent haulers who do the work. The haulers are not our employees; they set their own prices, choose their own jobs and use their own vehicles.

What we do

  • Take your request, including the photographs and video you provide.
  • Show it to haulers who work in your area and are cleared to take work.
  • Take the payment when you book, and pay the hauler once the job is done.
  • Check every hauler’s identity, insurance and documents before approving them.
  • Step in when something goes wrong.

What it costs

The hauler names their price and keeps all of it. JEMA Move’s fee is 30% of the hauler’s price, rounded to the nearest cent, and is added on top of it, so a $100 price is $130. That total is what you pay. There are no other charges unless you add a tip, and a tip goes to the hauler in full.

Payment

Your card is charged in full when you book, for the amount you accepted. Nothing more is taken unless you approve it first. An adjustment you approve during the job, and a tip you choose to add, are each a separate, smaller charge on the same card, so each appears on your statement as its own line. A declined adjustment is never charged.

Cancelling

You can cancel free of charge until 24 hours before your pickup. Inside 24 hours a cancellation fee of 25% of the job total applies, because a named person has turned down other work for that slot — and once your hauler has arrived, that 25% plus a $50 trip fee applies, because somebody has already driven to you. The exact amount is shown to you before you confirm; it is kept back and the rest of what you paid is refunded to the card you paid with.

What we can’t take

Some materials cannot legally be moved by a general hauler — hazardous waste, certain chemicals, some appliances containing refrigerants. The full list is in the app before you submit, and you confirm your items aren’t on it. If something is, your hauler may decline it on the day.

Haulers

Haulers on JEMA Move are independent contractors. To take work they must have a verified identity, current insurance for the vehicle they use, and current documents. Those things are checked by a person on our team, and work is refused when any of them lapses.

Disputes

If something goes wrong, open a support case in the app. A person reads it. A case is not resolved without an explanation you can read.
